We have four releases out now, and two more are hitting shops soon. It's all wonky, mutant, low-end freaky electro and bleeding-edge breaks. The first four are compilations, and the next few are going to (hopefully) own dancefloors and headphones later in the summer.

We're always looking for demo submissions, so please PM me or go to our site for contact info:

http://www.spacebarsentiments.com

ok, enough plugging for now. Hope to stick around here and bump into some old friends and make some new ones.

keep bleepin
Vex'd is one the most talked about artists right now and when you hear this ultra dirty, fookin grimey, terrifyingly bassy mixes you'll only want more and more:
Vex'd - 'Venus' (Planet Mu)
Toasty - 'Knowledge (Vex'd Remix )' (Hotflush Dubplate)
Vex'd - 'Gunman' (Planet Mu)
Miss it, miss out.

------------------------------------

Now this is a refreshingly class electro mix from 'Point - B'.
One of the nicest mixes I've heard in a long while, reminds me of MuZiq and Dynarec as its quite melodic, intelligent and so just damn listenable whether you're getting ready to go out or just sitting in front of the PC. You'll see and hear what I mean when you download it, this guy has talent.

No tracklisting.
31.5mb - 34mins in length. Fantastik!

its a funny link with some nice crazy remixes. One of the mixes was this one:

http://www.datassette.net/music/datashat--daft_fears.mp3

Basically its Boards of Canada's 'The Devil Is In The Details' mixed with daft punks 'Da funk' and tears for fear's 'Shout', I think its quality, best listen for yourself eh? heh. its 5.9 Mb in size, 3mins 40secs, get crackin

Others include this great version of 'The Message' with added vocoder, its 5Mb

http://www.datassette.net/music/datashat--stop_the_message.mp3

Also check Thomas the tank engine......with swearing :o
Best jus go to that first link, as theres some mixes too which aren't massive in mb but great in quality and humour :p

A brief history of Jack

After the breakup of the group 'Perennial Divide', Jack Dangers formed Meat Beat Manifesto in 1987, and mixed hip-hop beats with power noise. Initially considered an industrial act, MBM released a string of hard-hitting tracks on the Wax Trax label, such as 'God O.D.', 'Strap Down', and 'Genocide'. In 1990, Meat Beat Manifesto changed labels and released the seminal classic '99%', which contained 'Psyche Out', and 'Helter Skelter'. A B-side from this album, 'Radio Babylon', is widely recognized as the catalyst for the birth of jungle music. In the 90's, Jack inspired the big-beat sounds of artists like Prodigy and the Chemical Brothers, and released 3 more albums - 'Satiricon', the double album 'Subliminal Sandwich', and 'Actual Sounds and Voices'. After the commercial success of the single 'Prime Audio Soup' on the Matrix soundtrack, Jack dissolved Meat Beat Manifesto and released a string of records for DJs on the Tino Corp label (founded by Jack and Ben Stokes). In recent years, Jack reformed Meat Beat Manifesto and released the albums 'RUOK?', the jazz-oriented 'At the Center' and follow-up EP 'Off-centre', the DVD album 'In Dub', and a remix collection based on the Storm the Studio sessions. Jack has also recently released a number of albums of his solo work.

Jack Dangers is also an established remix artist, and his distinctive sound is instantly recognizable.

Modex is a two-member band - Gabix and Martín V - that was created in Buenos Aires, Argentina, by midyear 2003. It is during that same year that Modex made its first appearances at clubs in Buenos Aires: very powerful and exciting shows - mixing analog and digital instruments - that broke with any conventional element of the local electronic scene, and surprised the audience at each performance with their uniq elektro/new wave style! and a great visual performance through exclusive designed videos by Barfuss ( www.barfuss.com.ar ) The impact of Modex on the electronic scene reflected in the admiration of fans, and in the acknowledgement of critics and national and international artists like DJ Diego Ro-K, Mujik, Kitbuilders, etc. At the end of 2004, Modex released “Computer Rock”, an original track in the 404 compilation of the International Festival of Electronic Art in Rosario. In March 2005 Modex finished a remix of the new Mujik track “Perfect Empty” from his upcoming new E.P. release through his London Label Delta-b Recordings. The title of the remix is “Perfect Empty (kick in the teeth modex remix)” and it will appear in a cd that will be realesed with the vinyl e.p.This cd also have remixes from other argentinian well known producers like Gustavo Lamas, Da Club, Dokser, Sector 7g, She Male. http://www.delta-b.co.uk/ In May 2005, a Modex link is featured on the specialized electro website ELECTROTATION (Munich, Germany) http://www.electrotation.de/, including two free download tracks: “Quiero Ser Un Robot” y “Cellular Phone”. At the same time, Modex finished the production of the track “Whore”; credits include vocals by Marie (from Mujik) and remixes by MUJIK, for its up coming release. In August Modex finish a track for a compilation called Destroy 666 from the label My Melodies, the compilation also includes tracks by Capri, Carlos Shaw, Bad Boy Orange, Da Club, etc In 2004 / 05 Modex toured many cities from Argentina such as Rosario, Neuquen, Mendoza, Tucuman, and also other countries like Chile. www.planetamodex.com.ar Contacto: modex@fibertel.com.ar

Hi there, folks !

I am working on a plan to promote indie-artists and bands in India - through various channels like direct marketing & club representation, etc. I am mostly looking at direct sales for CDs (min. 1000 pieces) through a well-knit network of music lovers, which I am in the process of developing. Basically I am open to any genre - which sounds good but is not commercial and yes, eclectic - becoz Indian music lovers are opening to new sounds. We'll test market in Clubs & then sell to a captive database of music afficianados in major Indian metros. Anybody who has or knows someone with great music to share - and who wants to capture the big Indian market, pls reply to me with details. U can send me ur website, clips, bios etc on parvezagm23@yahoo.co.in

P.S: There are also offers for a few live gigs at select 5star hotels in the holiday (if u happen to be visiting India) season.

Looking to make a big musical bang with all u mates at Tribe !

Cheers

DFA Records, Astralwerks Announce Partnership
Rob Mackey reports:
Hold up, dancepunk community, 'cause your beloved DFA Records just got a shot in the arm (probably the left arm, since that one has more cred). That's right, the big wheels over at Astralwerks have just inked a "collaborative release" deal with our friends at Death From Above. But don't fret. While Astralwerks'll be carrying releases from the Juan Maclean, Delia Gonzalez & Gavin Russom, and Black Dice on their semi-major backs over the course of the next year, Tim Goldsworthy and James Murphy don't intend to stop releasing the hell out of the hott-azz, beat-heavy, 12" wax that got them where they are in the first place.

As for Astralwerks, General Manager Errol Kolosine is rather excited: "We've all been huge fans of everything DFA have produced...Astralwerks has worked with only a few labels to this extent in our 12-year history and DFA boasts an A&R and production aesthetic we feel truly excited about embracing completely."

For those with their heads firmly planted in the sand, Astralwerks releases records from bands like Phoenix, Air, Röyksopp, Kraftwerk, the Concretes, and the Chemical Brothers (if you need more names, just ask the kid that sits next to you on the bus every morning with the headphones and homemade Richard X t-shirt). Seriously, though, the partnership could mean great things for both parties, and we'll find out soon. As Pitchfork reported last month, the Juan Maclean were set to unveil their debut full-length, Less Than Human, through DFA; with the new hand-holdin' deal, the Astralwerks website now lists Human for July 12, a week later than its old date. It will be preceded in June by a single for the track "Tito's Way" and a single lonely ol' concert:
Goldfrapp Readies New Album

David Nadelle reports:
Never a band to get into a rut sound-wise, Goldfrapp will once again deliver the goods when Ooh La La (as it is tentatively titled) is released in the UK on August 22. The album will be prefaced by the title track single on August 8, hinted by some to sound significantly more "glam," even getting compared to the stomp and pomp of T.Rex and Eno-era Roxy Music. This seemingly tangential twist shouldn't surprise any of the group's admirers-- somewhere between theatrical, precious balladry and soft, trippy, synth-driven beats we find Goldfrapp, and steeped within these we find the hyperphysical, yet downright saucy voice and lyrics of Allison Goldfrapp.

The hungrily anticipated follow up to 2003's Black Cherry was co-written and co-produced by Goldfrapp and partner-arranger Will Gregory and is described on the band's website thusly: "It's sulky, it's sexual and it's a little bit Ooh La La."

Hello.
Our apologizes for such a long time between updates. But the truth is, it maybe just as long until the next update here at ersatzaudio.com. Why you might ask? Well, allow us to explain.

For those of you who don't know - Ersatz Audio is run by a staff of 2
humans. We are Adam Lee Miller and Nicola Kuperus, we are also in the band ADULT. We have been running Ersatz Audio since 1995 (that's 10 years!) we have also been in the band ADULT. since 1998 (that's 7 years!). As of late, we have found it VERY demanding to be both label heads and band members.

So, we have decided to take a break from the label for a little while (and no, we are not interested in getting employees to run Ersatz Audio but thanks for asking) . This does not mean Ersatz Audio is over, far from it, and we will still be running/maintaining the MAILORDER section of this site for example. It just means that we are taking a much needed break from Ersatz Audio after 10 years to concentrate on ADULT.

So what does this mean for ADULT. A LOT. ADULT. have a new 6 song ep entitled D.U.M.E. coming out this spring on the fantastic and equally independent Chicago label THRILL JOCKEY!
